RecommendedDr. Shaffer is great (almost like a pediatrician for kids but for dogs because of how loving he is ) After petco traumatized my dog in 2013 we found dr Shaffer and we’ve been going to him ever since . Yes is quite a drive every time (40 min) but very worth it ! Thanks 🙏

Walking in I wasn’t sure if I picked the right place, but as soon as we met the staff and the doctor, we knew we came to the right place. My four dogs enjoyed their visit! Lots of love and treats!! He diagnosed a few issues quick and gave us meds that worked! Couldn’t be happier or more confident than I am here! Would definitely recommend!!
I’ve been a very big fan of Dr Shaffer for 5 years. Their office has been unable to be communicated with since before Christmas. I even drove all the way there on a Friday when they should be open. Gates closed. No one there. I desperately need a med refill, and have no recourse. My dog is on a medicine that should not be stopped cold turkey or the dog could die. I’ve taken my dogs to Dr. Schaeffer since we moved here over 14 years ago. Him and his staff genuinely care about my animals and they made that apparent at every visit. I highly recommend flower mound veterinary clinic for anyone who loves their dogs! (Or cats)
Dr Shaffer is the best vet I have ever dealt with and I’ve had several dogs prior to finding my way to him. He truly cares about his patients and their owners. He doesn’t push unnecessary procedures or test but gives you all the options and patience to make the best decision for your pet. I have had both normal and special needs situations and he has been great with all of them. His staff is warm and friendly and make you feel right at home. In my opinion he is the real deal.
