A former US Navy debarkation point built in 1942, Fleet Landing lay vacant after World War II. Located on the eastern waterfront side of the Historic District, the 6000 square-foot (557 square-meter) concrete building was purchased by Tradd Newton in 2004. My Mom, 4 year old son, and myself went here for dinner on a Saturday evening. The food and service were excellent! My son had the fried chicken tenders, Mom had the fried shrimp with mashed potatoes and another side, and I had the Lowcountry Boil. They were all delicious! I saw this restraunt on one of the food shows and new I had to try it and we were not dissappointed. She Crab Soup was fantastic, stuffed hush puppies and fried green tomatoes were yummy. The let my daughter and I split the seafood pasta that we really enjoyed. My husband thought the crab cakes was the best meal he had while we were in town. I recommend making a reservation but it would also be worth the wait. Service was also wonderful. I can't wait to visit again when the weather is better.
Fleet Restaurant is located right on the water. We sat outside and had a beautiful view of the seater. My husband ordered the salmon with green beans. Both were cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious. I ordered the shrimp POBoy. Due to allergies I had the shrimp grilled instead of fried. While perfectly cooked-it was obvious the shrimp had not been cleaned. When I questioned our server, she stated they do t clean the shrimp because of the size. Really???
