A former US Navy debarkation point built in 1942, Fleet Landing lay vacant after World War II. Located on the eastern waterfront side of the Historic District, the 6000 square-foot (557 square-meter) concrete building was purchased by Tradd Newton in 2004. A great seafood place on the water.
Fleet is a must if you’re in Charleston. Think Robert’s Maine in York, Legal Seafoods in Boston, Nick’s Fish or G&M in Baltimore or Salt Life in Jacksonville Beach - all casual and all fantastic. Right on the water (with a small parking lot), the food, view, and atmosphere are tops. Bartenders are attentive and knowledgeable.
