We selected this place after reading the reviews and were expecting them to be much more welcoming and accommodating. The service was just ok. Our server started off friendly, but later, she seemed distracted and perhaps even irritated. We did not feel welcomed, and the atmosphere was not comfortable. In general we like simple menus, but the items they had in the menu were unrefined and underwhelming. And the taste was just average, doesn't match the prices. Great food and service. Limited menu, what we had was awesome. A little loud with high ceiling. Wonderful old home.
Our dining experience was extraordinary. The food is beyond delicious and the service was impeccable. We had the gazpacho, fried chicken, North Carolina trout and they made me a special dessert. They are great (and accommodating) with allergies. Well worth the visit.
✨ Good thing: The place had a great atmosphere. Cozy and nicely decorated. 💸 But… the food was way overpriced and not worth it, in our opinion. I ordered the Halibut, which was bland and lacked flavor. My friend had the Roasted Pork Collar, which was slightly burned on the edges. 😕 Service-wise, although the waiter was friendly, they forgot our table’s request for bread and didn’t offer anything to make up for it. 🚫 Overall, definitely not worth the high price for what’s supposed to be a fine dining experience.
The last time we were there, my wife's Caprese salad came to the table with Parsley leaves instead of basil. (This flavor combination does not work well.) When we asked, the server then told us they had run out of basil. Don't do that. Tell your table first. The chef shouldn't serve a dish missing one of the main components.
