My stay at the Fisher House came last year in December, at Christmas time, when my husband needed to be hospitalized at the WDC VAMC. Staff was very friendly, helpful, had food specially catered-in & gave a gift to every guest at the time, for the holiday. It is a beautiful place - spacious, very clean, nicely decorated; fully stocked, self-service kitchen with dishes, utensils, fresh & frozen foods & beverages. The Fisher House was such a blessing for us when my husband had to have an early morning surgery. The room was very comfortable. The public areas were nicely appointed. The staff were simply stellar ! I am so appreciative we were able to stay which really took the stress out of traversing traffic. It is right next to the VA hospital and walking distance to Med Star and children’s.

This place was like a 5 star hotel. Very beautiful. My son had to have surgery and we were lucky enough to get accommodations at the fisher house. We were so thankful to be able to stay and not have to fight traffic for a 2 hour drive.
