I need a negative stars option to accurately convey the level of service provided by First Service. After years of not answering the phone, returning calls, answering emails, etc., they finally went to a “customer service center” approach, where you dial into a call center. The problem? The call center then just reaches out to the same people that have ignored requests, and they ignore the call center. Accounting practices for where our HOA fees go are questionable at best. Horrible service! First time dealing with an HOA and I hope to never deal with one again. Be very careful before you buy anywhere First Service is the HOA management company.
I would rate them a perfect ZERO if that was a choice. Following up with another homeowner. They take our money, but don't seem to want to help anyone in the community with code enforcement, and maintenance of the common areas. Common areas are overgrown with weeds. The HOA is kind of like a ghost. The FSR website is broken and/or unmonitored. Work requests have been sitting for a few years now with no updates. I think we need to remove the HOA from our area. Melanie Nelms, a FirstService property manager, was assigned to manage our community about six months ago. So far she has been transparent, competent and proactive while performing management of our properties. Melanie responds to phone calls, emails, and text messages, from our Board of Directors, in a timely manner. I enjoy working with Melanie and hope our relationship with FirstService and Melanie, as our property manager, continues into the future.
