First Federal Bank Kansas City demanded that I hold back funds in escrow to build a deck on a newly built home that passed inspections and was granted an occupancy permit in St. Charles County, MO. This is above the requirements for the homes in this area as the home had the appropriate barrier installed, meeting code. I've never even heard of a bank being able to do this. I am retired military so over the years I have owned several houses. Thus is by far the worst bank I have ever had to deal with. I am a disabled veteran with a wife and 4 small children and have a VA loan. I fell behind on my mortgage and have repeatedly sent them the dull amount they have asked for and even sent a bank check (same as cash) for the full amount and they keep returning my payments. We worked with this bank for over a month only to meet with constant road blocks, endless lies, lack of communication and complete waste of time. We worked with Steve J*****, who seemed to be on our side and "try" to assist us. I've never sent sooooooo much paper work to a financial institute in my life. If it wasn't one thing it was another.
