Nope not worth it
Bought a new home from Smithbilt a few years ago. They installed the fireplace and said it wasn’t a real fireplace. It won’t heat the house and nothing I could add to it like a fan to make it work. Fake brick in the inside and gaps so if I tried to even roast marshmallows it would catch the house on fire.
Buyers beware! Showrooms are by appointment only and not the friendliest people !
Multiple commitments for installation resulted not only in no-shows, but in zero communication. When trying to contact the Knoxville office after no-shows, the call is routed to different reps in Charlotte, who make more promises which aren’t kept. We finally got a return call from Allen (local), who took full responsibility for the horrible experience and tried to rectify it as best he could.
I was told they installed my gas fireplace on my home. We had a water leak during heavy rain with water dripping down the flue in the attic. Attempted to have a service call and the first time they sent a tech out to inspect the system (who informed me he can't assess for water leaks, luckily he called me before coming). I had to call back and rescheduled another appointment (with a 4 hour window). They no-showed, it's raining again, and I got a voicemail at their office line so I'm calling a roofer.
