Disappointed – Finale seems like a special occasion place, so we went to celebrate a birthday. While we were seated fairly quickly for a Saturday night and the staff was courteous, we were very disappointed by the desserts themselves. The desserts were nicely presented, but the ones we ordered didn't taste nearly as good as they looked. Dreadful. All hype. – Went there for dessert to celebrate a friend's birthday. The evening was going great until we made the (bad) choice to go to Finale. We had to wait over 30 minutes in the crowded bakery section for our table. The Best! – Everything you ever wanted in a dessert restuarant. Both locations are equally fabulous. Forget dinner and go stright to Finale for dessert!
Amazingly beautiful and delicious – Wow. This is the best dessert restaurant I've ever been too. I had my 40th birhtday at the Boston location. What a treat. We go to Finale at least three times a year, and get take out from the Harvard Square location more often. The Boston location is gorgeous with the beautiful circular banquettes around the windows. Delicious Food, Great place – I recently went to Finale for my friend's 18th Birthday and it was AMAZING! We were treated courteously by our waiter who stood close by in case we had any questions about the menu and was always around to fill our water glasses. The dessert was unforgettable. Disappointing finale to the evening – Very disappointing. Terrible table, and the waiter was snotty, rude, and inattentive. We can't comment on the food, as we walked out after 10 minutes of just trying to get the wait staff to get us water. The customer seems to come last--our request to substitute non-dairy sorbet for ice cream (for a dairy allergy) was met with disinterest. Horrendous Service, great desserts. – After a 45- minute wait for a table, we had both the waiter and the manager harass us about ordering despite a request to have five minutes to work around an allergy. They were rude about it, rather than politely explaining the situation. After eating the desserts rather quickly, they swiped up the plates and again asked us to leave quickly. Sizzle, no Steak – If care more about what something looks like than what it tastes like, then Finale is for you. I prefer the taste. I thought the taste of three different desserts where slightly above average, and at the prices not worth it. The hot chocolate was lousy and the coffee was cold and average. I will say the server was very knowledgable and courteous. However if you try to sit and talk when it is busy and you will get dirty looks from the host(ess).
Awesome – My boyfriend has been planning on taking me to Finale since Valentine's Day but we never got around to it. This past weekend, we had some free time on Saturday night and decided to try it out. It was great! Our waiter was the sweetest guy ever and our dessert (we shared the Chocolate Bliss) was amazing, especially the Molten Cake. Also had the Hazel Nut Hot Chocolate and was terrific as well. I would definitely recommend checking this place out if you're a dessert lover.
