ask about monday classes!!! – I called recently and explained I was on a budget. The girl on the phone explained that while festoon's haircuts start at $50 and go up from there, they also have a program where students take appointments on Mondays for only $15!!! She even said that if I wanted something called a "graduated bob" it would be free! I spent the better part of a morning there last week with a lovely named Marian, and I'm so pleased! Ocean rocked my haircut!! – Ocean gave me the best haircut last week, she was wonderful (and only $50!). the front desk girls and the assistants were so friendly, i felt right at home there. for sure i'm going back. Oh, and it's a dog-friendly environment, which is always nice.
Great Place and affordable – After being with my stylist on the east coast for 15 years, it was hard to switch when I moved here and find a new stylist I that would get me and my hair. Bruno from Festoon is that guy. He knows exactly how to cut and style my hair according to my face structure, knows what looks good and styles that are fresh and new. The salon prices are also affordable and its centrally located in the city. I'd recommend this place.

The high ceilings and light wood floors give this corner salon a light and airy ambience. Customers come from all over the Bay Area for a cut, color, styling or treatments such as thermal reconditioning (hair straightening).
Waste of money and time – I recently went to Festoon for a haircut and highlights just because they had such a good rating on citysearch. I was disappointed. The haircut was alright but the highlight and color they gave me was horrible. I have brown hair and wanted subtle highlights. They dyed my hair raven black and highlights? - well, no one including myself can see where the highlights are. I will probably have to find another place just to get my color fixed. And, of course they charged me a packet to do all this.
Festoon = Flop – I moved here recently and started my search for a stylist. When I made my appointment at Festoon they told me no less then 3 times that i was getting in on a cancelation. Um... that should have been a clue. The stylist seemed almost bothered by me. She was obviously anxious to get off work. Her fellow stylists kept asking her how much longer she was going to be. The Best – After 5 years of being bummed not having a decent hair place, I have finally found a place, and stylist I can count. I see Premstar and Ocean and I love them both! They have helped me transition my cut from short, long bangs, etc. and my hair color from black to natural. So worth it! – Ok, so I paid more than I had planned, but it was soooo worth it. I had been going blonde for what seemed like forever and decided it was time to make a change scary! Mya gave me the most beautiful haircolor ever! She took her time and gave me exactly what I wanted from blonde to a warm chestnut with honey highlights a dramatic and much over due change.
THE BOMB!! – i just had the most amazing expirence @ festoon. =) my hair is amazing marie was who i saw. she's funny and can give u a good rockstar like haircut. she rocks!!!
