We were told surgery was to be 1:30. At 1:30 we were told it was actually scheduled for 3:00 with 1 1/2 for prep time. That is logical. We were left in the room with no nurse checking on us until I stepped outside to ask if surgery was cancelled at 5:30 p.m. They said they didn't know but would ask someone. At 6:00 they came down and took Wayne to surgery. The monitor said he was in surgery at 6:45, and then a nurse called me in the waiting room at 8:00 to say they were then taking him into surgery. I took my husband to the ER a few days ago. The triage team were great. We saw the doctor who determined a CT was not necessary, and if his blood tests were normal, he would be discharged. An hour later, I asked the receptionist if his blood test results were back. She said she'd check, but obviously did not. We sat there for hours. A tech came to take him for a CT, after the Dr. said it was not necessary. Another tech came for more blood. Had my first experience with this hospital ER a few days ago and hopefully it was my last. The triage folks are the only reason for getting 2*, beyond them, zero.
I've been to Fawcett on a couple of occasions, surgery only. Never ran across anyone who was unpleasant or unkind. Was always treated with respect, kindness, & concern. I work in the medical field, so I have people tell me all the time that I'm more understanding with wait times, busy schedules, & Drs running behind etc. This is probably true! I know how busy Drs, nurses, & the rest of the staff are. They are under constant pressure & criticism. Our hospitals here are always ...Continue Reading
I think I was treated fairly quickly because of my situation at hand. The whole staff was very professional and dealt with me with the utmost respect. From the time I walked in til the time I was discharged every staff from thevadmission lady. Radiology guy and my nurses and the doctor I left feeling confident they had me feeling better. I saw my primary care doctor today and more testing is needed but I need rest low stress and stay out of the heat as much as I can.
