The Legend begins with beer—Busch beer to be exact. But this was just the beginning…In 1921 Anheuser Busch decided to open a drinking establishment in the picturesque river town of Alton, Illinois. A yellow brick building known as Bon-Air, was constructed right on the corner of three streets, 4th, Pearl and Broadway. We had a large group and were well taken care of by our servers the entire time. The food was great as always and the beers were cold as ice. We had a great time smoking cigars and listening to a great band yesterday.
Was there 12/3/17 with 3 other friends and I don't know what everyone is talking about with their bad reviews. Guy at the door was friendly, didn't have to wait long to order, girl taking our order was friendly, didn't feel like we had to wait too long to get our number called, food was priced well and delicious, server came over pretty quick after we sat down to get our drink order, was friendly and was really good about checking on us. Great atmosphere and great food!! But you need to move your condiments. It's a damn joke trying to get your food and put stuff on your sandwichs.
Cheese burgers, fries & pork kabobs were perfectly cooked & very tasty. Beer was cold & the band was great (I love acoustical guitars). I didn't realize they had music 7 nights per week so entertainment was a surprise.
