Love at first Bite! – I have to agree with others who recommended Famous Daves. I am crazy about smoked brisket and I have tried at least 5 or 6 other places recommended online and been super disappointed - until now! THIS IS THE REAL DEAL. I also had ribs and chicken with my meal and loved their sauces. Rich flavor, not too sweet with an "extra bold and spicy" option for those of us who like it HOT! I could eat this stuff everyday. I am going to ask my boyfriend to bring me to Famous Daves for my birthday next month!!!
GIVE ME MORE! – I can not get enough of this place. The people are awesome, the food is 2nd to none, and I could eat my way through about 100 ribs. All the sides are awesome, especially the coleslaw and muffins. I love FAMOUS DAVE'S night out!
LOVE NOT LIKE! – I wish I was sitting down eating Famous Dave's BBQ instead of just writing a review for them. However, we had dinner there last night and I just had to share our experience with other BBQ lovers. I live for BBQ and I am quickly becoming the biggest Famous Daves fan in Philadelphia. I've had good BBQ at some of the other places in town, but the menu here is bigger and better, as are the portions and quality.
Strangely good – Admittedly I was a bit hesitant about heading over to Famous Dave's since it is a chain after all. While it was not the best BBQ I've had in my life, but considering what's left in the area now that the Smoked Joint has left town, it's pretty darned good. Very good, juicy brisket and tasty barbecue chicken are tops. Pretty decent (but not very meaty) ribs. The pork is chopped (as opposed to pulled) and is pretty good. very poor - unless all your after is sugar and salt – Chain Restaurant. There's the first indication of quality. Portions small and overpriced. Ribs - four ribs, a corn muffin, an small quarter of a worn out corn cob and and a few spoonsful of baked beans - $12. Pork sandwich - dry, tastless, covered in sugary spice red ketchup.
