Chef Bryan Voltaggio's modern American diner offers affordable all-day meals in a former Frederick car dealership transformed by clever design and raw, natural materials into an open, airy space, with a long counter fronting an open kitchen; its menu elevates the comfort-food canon, while adult beverages include boozy milkshakes as well as wine, beer and cocktails. Signature dishes include Fried Chicken with Buttermilk Biscuits, Meatloaf and Duck Fat Fried Potatoes.

Our first time here and impressed of everything they have. Staff's are organized and prices are reasonable
Our go to for bunch/breakfast on the weekend. If you're a true "foodie" a fan of Top Chef you'll appreciate everything that is made from scratch; not prepackaged for the microwave! When I read these one star reviews - I recommend you go to Cracker Barrel or McD - move on - it takes a little time to cook from scratch..... Relax. Enjoy the experience. Pleasant staff!!!
FAMILY MEAL is a very deceiving name for this restaurant, and it is ANYTHING BUT a diner which is also how it is advertised. Very nice building and decor, service was fine, and food was o.k, but much more costly than one would assume a family restaurant would be, even for breakfast-brunch.. Family Meal felt more "yuppie" than "family" which is fine for people looking for an up-scale dining experience, but not for a diner breakfast or lunch.
The seasoning of the fried chicken is tasty & the duck fat fries with aioli is to die for!!!
Sorry, this place will end like the previous restaurant. Everyone will love it at first because it's new, but good luck at keeping clientele. Customers will pay your prices in the beginning and after a while business will die down. Your prices are high for the food you offer. It's a shame to say and I don't understand why high end Chefs try to start something here. Most will drive to DC for that type of food and higher end restaurants.
Business response:
Hi which location did you visit?. This is Frederick we've been here for years and this used to be a car dealership before we opened. There was no previous restaurant. Sorry you did not like it though.
Easter Sunday brunch. Attentive service. Diverse menu. Delicious cuisine - in a reasonable period of time. Sinfully good dessert. Fair prices. We will be back soon!
Went to Family Meal for the first time for breakfast. The waffle was way too sweet and felt like eating dessert. They also were out of sausage by 11 am. How do you run out of a breakfast staple on your menu which is not even that long (one page) to begin with? I would go back to try dinner but I probably will not do breakfast there again. The bacon, eggs and toast were okay.
Wonderful atmosphere, service and great food. Will definitely eat here again.
Family Meal has a 4.3 star rating with 1,821 reviews.
Family Meal is open now. It will close at 6:00 p.m.
