THE BEST – Dr. Eynard and his staff have been taking care of my 5 year old dog since he was 4 months old. I'm a nurse and I feel confident in saying that the care my dog receives AND the follow-up is better than a lot humans receive. My dog had pneumonia once and another time what I think was a slight case of pancreatitis. I received a call every third day to check on how he was doing. Blood work for dogs is expensive no matter where you go. My friends w/other vets confirmed this. I found a lump on Spike which turned out to ... read more
if i could give them less than 1 star, i would. suffice it to say, they are the absolute worst in every respect. good riddance to you all!
Heartless and money grubbing – This is the worst vet I've ever been to. The doctor is some French guy who clearly does not care for animals at all. He treats every animal that comes in like a lab rat, and shows no human compassion that you would expect from a vet. I have a 12 yr old cat that chewed on a cactus and I had to take him to the emergency room. They noticed he had a gum infection, so we took him to this vet. When we brought him in, the first thing he did was go on and on about how old the cat is and how we need to ... read more
Done with them – Since I moved to Philly for grad school 3 years ago, I've been taking my dog to Fairmount Animal Hospital (reluctantly). Had the same experience on my 1st visit as described in an earlier review - Dr. Eynard gave me a stack of pamphlets, then showed me jars of worms & bugs that could end up in my dog. When I asked which vaccines were absolutely necessary, I was told it was my decision & that it was his "responsibility" to give me all the facts. Based on such fear tactics, I never trusted him like I did my pr... read more
I wish it were better – I am new to the area, so I scheduled a "meet and greet" to choose a vet. I was swamped with brochures and recommendations for all kinds of shots and pills--this was a shock considering my previous vet limited my dog to just what was needed and didn't like to see animals on a lot of meds. The vet literally did not address my dog for 45 minutes-and then only after I suggested that perhaps he should get to know him. After standing for that long (there were no seats whatsoever in the exam room, also a fir... read more
shot-happy vet – We took our cat here once, and the vet wanted to give her shots for about 6 different things. I refused everything except the required rabies, and he pulled out all sorts of awful worms etc. preserved in jars and tried to talk me into all these extra shots for our perfectly healthy, indoor only cat. The final bill was also about $100 more than I expected. Now that we've switched vets I am having a horrible time trying to get them to fax the records over to our new vet.
I loved this Vet.....Very professional and thorough! – My experience at Fairmount Animal Hospital was extremely positive, and I continue to go there. The vet is very nice, and spent a full hour on the first visit to explain about vaccinations, diseases that humans can catch from their pets, and veterinary regulations. I found this extremely useful because like most people, I am not a veterinarian, and I do not have the doctor's expertise. My first visit at Fairmount Animal Hospital was very useful because I could choose what... read more
Excellent staff with excellent service! – We just moved to the area and heard about Fairmount Vet and due to a problem with our little dog, took him there for treatment and diagnosis. Dr. Eynard was wonderful with us, the best vet we have ever seen. He took his time to explain the problems we were having as well as all treatment options, leaving it up to us to decide under his guidance, not as one comment said below... we were not "forced into anything" and I trusted him and his staff completely. The prices were fair and the... read more
Exceptional care – We have been using Dr. Eynard for the past 3 years. His care is excellent. He is extremely knowledgable and loving with our pets. We would highly recommend his clinic. His clinic routinely calls to follow up on care.
