Shout out to Aubrey at the front desk! We had a large group who needed a last minute hotel due to a storm, and Aubrey was fast to accommodate and was so kind. Thank you Aubrey!
If you're looking for a modern hotel or any kind of modernizations, this is not the place to go. There are no USB plugins in the rooms so hopefully you'll have plenty if you have extra devices and phones. The breakfast nook was decent at best but mostly undercooked hot foods. The standout is the people behind the front desk and the service in general! They were out of tissues in the whole hotel, there were no card, key folders to hand out and more.. As it is great location and a nice little throwback place.
Clean hotel, very convenient if you’re doing business in Ames. Everything was good but all was just a little off. The front desk attendant didn’t quite know what was going on. The beds were strangely tall so the night stands were too short to meet the bed. Not having clocks in the room was a little odd. The vague old person smell in the room was weird. My 6:45am wake up call came at 5:50. Like I said, nothing to give it a really bad review, it was all just a little off.
Our room truly smelled like dirty socks. We were there for a football game and it was all booked up so didn’t bother asking to be changed rooms. The place is what you expect when it comes to Courtyards, never the best but hey it’s a lower level Marriott. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Assuming that all rooms don’t smell like what ours did, I think this a fine place to stay.
