Awesome Gift – My husdband bought me a wonderful package to this spa for my birthday. It was a great way to have a day of pampering. Everyone was friendly, and the spa has a fantasitc european charm to it. I enjoyed the lavender body scrub and a steam shower, followed by a european body massage. BEST MASSAGE !! – This was the best massage I have ever gotten and I get massages very often. I felt extremely attended to, and the massage therapist was overly helpful in trying to fix my sepcific back pain. The location is small yet very warm and cozy. I am looking forward to my appointment next week. I would definately reccomend this spa. The massages are extremely enjoyable!!
Wonderful experience – I love the atmosphere of the spa. I liked the fact the it wasn't street level or a store front. I felt that the location lends it's self to discretion, which I appreciated. I felt comfortable relaxed and welcomed from the minute I walked in. The facial included a hand message which was a treat. Ultimate luxury experience – I brought my sister to your spa the day after Thanksgiving for a complete treatment. It was her first visit to NY from England, and the VERY first time she had had any type of spa treatment, not even a manicure! Can I just tell you from my sister how utterly fantastic a time she had. THE BEST FACIALS! – I have been a client of Faina's for over 20 years. I get a facial every 8 weeks and each time I have had an extremely pleasant experience. Faina and her staff are extremely professional and go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. I can't imagine going anywhere else!
Unpleasant and unprofessional – I am writing this review because I feel that people who have not been to this salon before should know what they might be getting themselves into. I echo the negative reviews about the atmosphere of this place. I did not feel like I was entering into a zen zone where they are trying to get me to relax. But there are worse things. Very Intimate Spa – I've be a regular at Faina's for 2 years now and I'm actually disappointed to read some of these negative reviews. This place is great. The service is wonderful, the staff is nice, the prices are good compared to what typical NYC spas charge. You never have to wait, they take you in right away. THE MOST RELAXING TIME OF MY LIFE – From the moment I walked in the door, I felt relaxed. Aromatic candles and soothing music greeted me. Loved the Snickers in the waiting area. First step was pedicure and manicure. It was wonderful. Then came a body scrub and steam shower. I didn't want it to end. Followed by the most relaxing hour- long massage I've ever experienced. Not what I expected – I went to this spa after reading several recommendations on this site. First of all, it's not what you expect from a NYC spa. It's on the 4th floor of a building in a small commerical space. The treatment rooms aren't very big but the staff was very very nice. I had a great facial and massage. I would recommend this if you aren't into the whole "spa" image because at times it felt more like a doctor's office.
