March 1996 I came to the USA from the UK not knowing I was pregnant ,my first appt was at st Vincent hospital,I had to be checked for diabetes not knowing what gestational diabetes was I normally missed my appointment. I remember she called me herself to ask why I was not there, I told her I could not get a ride to come, she called me a taxi being so worried abt my condition.
