If you're into old aviation and the legendary Spruce Goose, this is the place to go. I went with my family and everyone had a great time learning about the history of aviation.
It was awesome, seeing all the historical aircrafts and even being able to touch them. It's very informational and the artifacts are incrincredible. Even being able to go inside a few of them gave me a different perspective and my imagination to me back to the days when human air travel was just getting started. As a bonus, the Wings and Waves building was a exciting way to cool off after the tour, with giant 65 ft water slides. Definitely must do it again.
The museum is broken up into 3 buildings all within a short walk to each of them. the exhibits are right in your face and you literally can reach out and touch history. I myself would like to see more of the planes kept in a flyable state such as the Flying Heritage Museum in Everett WA. These planes would draw way more people if you could roll them out occasionally and taxi them etc. The interactive displays are very informative and I really enjoyed the SR 71 portion.
I'm not a space or plane fan. We stopped because it excites my husband to go through these. We spent an hour in a half in one and 2 1/2 in the other. You can imagine, I was bored being there that long but I can go in and show about 45 mins of interest in either but not both. However, my husband found it absolutely fabulous!
I was disappointed that a lot of the interactive displays were "out of order". Hard to keep 12 yr old grandson interested.
Great way to spend the day! Stayed in rv in parking lot with no problems.
Best Aviation Museum I've ever visited. The collection of Russian Aircraft and WWII planes is exceptional.
Great place to check out. Wish I would have had a little more time to explore. The Hercules alone is worth the price of admission
