I honestly don't take the time to usually write a review about places like these that I visit. But as a fan of aviation and all things Hughes related I was extremely excited to finally visit the H-4, but at the same time I was concerned that it would just end up being another middle of nowhere museum. What a fun and great experience. We really enjoyed it.
Had much to see, my favorite was sitting in Howard Hughs pilot seat in the Spuce Goose.
We returned with the grandchildren specifically to see the Spruce Goose, and we were not disappointed! Our almost-13-year-old grandson is a WWII aviation buff, and he was so excited to tour the Spruce Goose cockpit, which, at $25.00 for 4 people, was a bargain! Despite it being one of the hottest days of the year in Oregon, we toured all three buildings and walked the perimeter to see the fighter jets! Picture a toppled over grave that's been sitting in complete desecration. This is what happened to Michael King Smith’s grave under the current board’s watch. It is our understanding that this gravestone was knocked down by the Falls Event Center contractors after acquiring the Museum. Call it an analogy for the current state of affairs.
