Eve is a real find!! – I recommend Eve to all my friends and get great reviews from everyone. In the beginning I went to a different waxing person every time and always had a great experience, but I really recommend going to Yasmin as I find her to be my favorite. She makes you really comfortable because she's so personable and I never even have to do the sensitive wax because she works quickly and carefully. Great Place!! – I went here to get my first Brazilian wax and needless to say I was more than a little nervous (being a complete bikini line waxing virgin). My friend reccomended that I go to her waxer, Maya, and I am so glad I did!! She put me completely at ease and even though it hurt (obviously no waxing is ever pain-free), she talks you through it the entire time (15 minutes) and completely relaxes you. Great First Experience! – As a waxing "virgin," I entered Eve with a certain degree of trepidation- my fears were quickly dispelled when I met Maya, my fabulous waxer who came highly recommended. She was so friendly, and as soon as I told her this was my first time, she talked me through and explained everything she was doing, even throwing in some encouragement ("Good girl! Almost done! Uneven service – I've been to Eve a few times for waxing and want to warn people that the service can be very uneven. If you find a technician you like, stick with her - I recommend Yola. There are a few simple things that waxers should do: press your flesh so that it is more taut - this helps remove hair more effectively so they don't have to go over an area several times; press your skin after ripping off a strip to reduce pain; tell you when it's going to hurt more/ to breathe; tweeze strays; try to clean off any residue;... read more
No need to be scared – If you are a first time waxer, or just squemish, you have found the right spot. Maya came highly recommended to me and I see why. She's does a great job, and she's superfast, and she has evening appointments. Definitely worth it.
Great Brazilian Wax! – I found Eve after reading great reviews on Citysearch and everything positive people said was true. For the last two years, I have gone to Eve (Maya) for Brazilians and recommended her to all of my friends (who all return very pleased). I have not tried the other services, but Maya does a fantastic job for a great price!
Best spa – Ignore the negative reviews you read here. Eve's has the most pleasant staff and provides excellent service. My favorites are Maya (for eyebrow waxing - she's and artist), Jane for mani / pedi. And, when you're done, Magnolia is right across the street - best cupcakes in the world.
Unfriendly staff! – After reading some good reviews on Citysearch I was very excited for my first appointment. Unfortunately I was totally DISSAPOINTED! The girl who did my manicure, was very rude to me. She talked to me like she was interviewing me for a job (not a very fun one). Never go back EVER – I saw the dececnt review on NYcitysearch and decided to go since it was listed under CHEAP budgets. Boy was I in for a big surprise. First of all - when I called to inquire how much their bikini wax was - they said their "Gourmet" bikini wax $40. The place is super tiny - the room itself did not look clean at all.
