At first Dr. Dickens seemed charming, but he later showed himself to be arrogant and unsympathetic, and he didn't even perform a thorough exam during either of my visits. In his after-visit notes he stated that my PCP had referred me to him for a condition that she didn't even know about at the time of the referral! Hernia w mesh repair
Dr. Dickens is a very personable surgeon who performed a robotic inguinal hernia repair for me in August 2022. The surgery went very well. I was off all pain medications after two days. In addition, my surgery began around 9:30 AM and I was released from the hospital by noon the same day. I highly recommend Dr. Dickens
Serendipity sent me by ambulance to Hillcrest hospital and Dr. Dickens after my colon ruptured. He was a wonderful advocate and surgeon who first got me back to decent health, then performed robotic surgery to repair the underlying cause. He saved my life: That's all there is to it.
Gall Bladder surgery on someone with severe anxiety. Dr. Dickens spent the time to ease my fears and explain everything. He offered sage advice and the surgery went off without a hitch. I gave him hell and he responded with grace. I took my security teddy bear (yes, at 57 I took my teddy to surgery) and no one batted an eye. Best care from everyone involved and to him you are not just another number. He genuinely cares about his patients. If I could give more stars I would.
Smooth as wax...was up off bed from recovery and dressed myself...wheelchair to lobby only because my MOMZ and sister insisted on it...walked under my own power the whole time...never required assistance in walking...very glad with the care and surgery provided by Dr. Dickens and team...my pain was very mild and after 5 days I was only taking pain meds 1 a day after 10 days I was only doing PRN with the pain meds...I give the process 5 stars and would recommend him to others...
Dr. Dickens is the real deal. He did my inguinal hernia repair. His consultation was complete and informative. His surgery team was top notch and very through. Answered all our questions and made sure we were aware of what to expect. The process went very smooth starting Friday at 7:00 and out before noon. Saturday I had no pain even went Christmas shopping and a movie that night. The robotic assisted surgery is the way to go. Left 4 small 3/4 incisions that healed quickly again with no pain. Mi
Had laparoscopic sigmoid colectomy in August 2016 because of symptoms that I had suffered with for most of my life. The hospital experience was amazing due to the excellent care and efficiency given by Dr. Dickens and his staff. I felt like I was surely their "favorite patient" during my hospital stay.
