The people were genuinely friendly. The town was clean. The Expo was small. The 5K was SUPER. The Full was NOT “Flat and Fast” as described. There were several hills. The Full was scenic. The race tee was BEAUTIFUL. The personalized race bins were nice. The keepsake goody bags were nice. The keepsake pre-filled water bottles were nice. The Race Director Steve and the CEO of Krusteaz were awesome gentlemen. The BEST part was finishing the last .20 miles on Hayward Field. This is the fourth year running the half marathon. It is my favorite course and I will come back year after year! The event is very well organized, the community involvement is impressive, and the course is great.
The Eugene marathon community was amazing. From the volunteers, surrounding communities, to the vendors, to the racers involved, this was an experience that I will never forget and has lit a fire within me to compete in my first official marathon (I ran the half-marathon). Thank you to the city of Eugene, the surrounding communities, and all of the amazing volunteers!
