New Management Is the Pits – I have been going to Meurice for years. They generally do an excellent job, which justifies their high prices. Bernie, the old manager and his team were wonderful. Always friendly and charming. Sadly, the new manager Louie lacks the customer service skills of his predecessor. He's rude, unresponsive, uncaring, and unprofessional (from the way he speaks to customers down to his appearance and hygiene.) He totally screwed up a very expensive garment I left in his care, and refused to deal with the ... read more

Business response:

My apologies for your unpleasant experience in our store. Our employees are instructed to never let a customer leave unhappy. I revieved the tapes of the transaction. They tried desperately to try and make you happy and to correct the problem. You were relentless and continued to humiliate the staff. Our employees are our greatest assets. Louie was stabbed while trying to prevent a robbery in our 57th St store. They will do anything for the company including taking abuse from an upset customer. His hygene?...that is a low bl... read more

Terrific care of your expensive clothes – Meurice is a fantastic service provider. While they are very expensive (although not as costly as Madame Paulette), they take great care of your clothes. If you're just having your everyday, regular clothes cleaned, you may choose to do that with your neighborhood guy. However, if you care at all about something, I would say you should run to Meurice. They take extreme care, including hand pressing and removing/reattaching buttons on suits, etc. They also managed to get ridiculous st... read more

Totally Worth It – I had a very expensive fur coat that i needed looked at and cleaned. I was unsure of where to go because I needed a professional and very talented cleaner that i could trust this with. I went to meurice after hearing some good things about them. I even went in and spoke to the manager of the store before i even gave them my coat. I was nervous, but felt that this was the optimal choice for me. I am glad to say that everything was 100% to my satsisfaction. I got the coat back in perfect condition, clean, lo... read more

Incompetent tailor and arrogant service – I bought a special dress that I needed shortened and decided that I would take it to Meurice rather than my local tailor. The dress was delivered to me with a stain along the entire bottom (where they had marked the dress to be shortened?) and the lining had not been tailored so it hung about 3 inches below the bottom of the dress. When I returned it to be fixed, the man behind the counter insisted that the stain could not have been created there even though the dress was clearly new... read more

Business response:

Customer service is a tough job. Sometimes I get so upset at a company I am doing businesss with that I want to scream at their employees. My Dad taught me that you get more with sugar than vinegar. Whenever I am in a situation where I want to scream at a customer service rep either on the phone or in person, I remind myself that the individual I am dealing with is just trying to do their job. We try to make everyone happy but sometimes it just dosnt happen. I wish this situation was brought to my attention before it got out... read more

Top rate cleaning service for furniture and more! – Our favorite piece of furniture is our couch. It has a lot of history, and was the first piece we bought "together" as a couple. We went through a rough patch of time with our dog, who considered the couch as open season for "accidents" for a couple of months. I never thought the stains would come out. The technicians were very realistic in their expectations, but they even exceeded their own as far as how the couch would turn out. They did a phenomenal job and saved our co... read more

The absolute best in service & cleaning – Meurice has been picking up and delivering our cleaning for over eight years. The personalized service is only surpassed by the utmost in quality cleaning and packaging. Clothing is returned in nicer, neater packaging than when it was purchased. We had been through four dry cleaners. Missing buttons, shiny over-pressed suits, couture dresses ruined. Then we found Meurice. If you care about your clothing like we do, there is no other choice. Far in a way the best cleaner in NYC and on... read more

Made good on my experience – Earlier, I had posted that I had a negative experience with this business. It seems as though that was an anomaly. Based on the unusual experience I had, I received an apology from the business and the business they contract with to clean ties. Tiecrafters was especially responsive and offered to re-do the job, and then some. In the end, I am satisfied with the relationship and appreciate very much the responsive customer service on the part of both businesses involved with my transaction.

BEST CLEANERS IN NYC – I have been using Meurice Cleaners for years (in a few locations). They always come to the rescue! Whether its a light yellow silk gown with champagne spilled all over it (that now looks brand new!) or a winter coat that has a broken zipper - They always clean perfectly and fix amazingly well. It is pricey, but well worth it, as it is so much cheaper than replacing your high end garments.
