RecommendedFinding an experienced vet for an exotic animal (in our case, a hedgehog) can be really hard. We are so lucky to have Essex vet. Dr. Francois is so knowledgeable and helpful, and gave our little one the best care. Even though it is not the closest to us, we bring all of our pets here because the staff is so wonderful and helpful. I know my pets are in the best hands here.
Amazing, compassionate, caring veterinarians at Essex Vet Center. Doctor Sherman is incredibly knowledgeable and very compassionate especially when I had to put my guinea pig down because of a tumor. I bring my dogs to a different vet, but would 100% recommend this vet for people with small animals!

Essex Vet Cntr was the most professional, respectful and nicest group I've ever dealt with, even though our turnout with my daughters Gecko Zoey wasn't a good one, they, kept us posted of her day to day updates with a phone call or a text. When Zoey passed, they gave my daughter a little keepsake with her name and footprints stamped in it, and she received a card with the entire staffs condolences. Highly recommend this amazing place.

I had an emergency with my pet rabbit Bun Bun on 2/8/19 . Called my place Milton Veterinary only to find out they no longer deal with small pets. They recommended Essex or Shelburne. I called Essex, at first was told it was too late in the day they had nothing available. When I explained my baby was not moving she said hold on, came back and said bring him right in. We have been patrons of Essex Vet for nearly 20 years. They have helped us with new puppies and kept them healthy until they were old ladies. And had to walk over the rainbow bridge together. Their compassion in our time of need was over whelming. We now have a new fur baby and we travel from Highgate, vt for his care.
I loved my last vet but not the veterinary office she worked at. I had a horrible experience with them when my beloved 15 yr old cat was passing away which made me decide I'd never go back there. when i got a new kitten I started searching around and really liked the website for Essex Veterinary Center so thought I'd see how they were.
