I recommend YOU DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE!!! I brought my ferret here. Had blood drawn and test done... said he had adrenal disease so I started treating him for that. A year or so later he had a seizure. I had moved and so his records sent to new vet... who read the records from Essex vet. The First thing they want to do was blood work because my ferrets sugar was so low at the Essex vet... they made a note that it must be a lab error. LAB ERROR!!! I paid to have my ferret blood drawn and read! Why would I pay for blood to... read more

Our family has used Essex Vet Center for multiple generations of pets. We love that the care here is a perfect balance of current best veterinary practice with recognition of what each animal needs to live their best life. We have had a lot of rescue animals which have ranged from lovable couch potatoes to highly strung, and reactive. All the vets have welcomed all of them with love and care, met their health challenges with respect and great skill, including surgeries, chiropractic and immune disorders and eventually provid... read more

The staff is very knowledgeable with exotic animals and took good care of my Russian tortoise, Master Oogway. It is hard to provide great service during a pandemic, but they nailed it!

I HIGHLY recommend Essex Vet Center for anyone who has exotic pets. I have taken both my bunny and my ball python there and I couldn’t be happier with the care they received! Dr. Bradley knows her stuff and explains everything clearly. The techs are absolutely wonderful and also really know their stuff and you can see the care they truly have for all animals. I drive 1 hour and 45 min to them because I couldn’t trust anyone else with the excellent care I know Essex provides. 5 stars!!

ECV is absolutely the best. They not only take impeccable care of my 3 brat princes, they actually understand the breed... I have 3 breeder re-homed Pekingese, so definitely not your typical Vermont breed.

I highly recommend Essex’s Veterinary Center! I had the worst thing happened to me two days before Christmas: My hedgie got very sick. I took her to be seen and the employees were so helpful and understanding and tried everything they possibly could. Even though she didn’t make it, I’m so thankful I brought her here and she got the care she needed in the last hours of her life! If I was to ever get an exotic animal again, I’ll be definitely bringing it here!

I highly recommend EVC. I can't express how THANKFUL I am for the staff. Sadly, prior to my visit, one of my pets escaped from her carrier case (we thought outside in snow) & the staff went ABOVE & BEYOND to help me locate my pet & diagnose the other. They are super kind and informative. They answered any question I had as well!

Our 16 1/2 year old kitty Mitty had to cross the rainbow bridge the end of October. Her hyperthyroidism, kidney disease, and heart disease took over no matter what we tried. Dr. Elizabeth and Skye were wonderful and made it easier. Thank you so much. I very highly recommend Dr. Elizabeth.

Dear Dr. Teresa Bragg and Nurse Jess, Gypsy and I wanted to say, Thank you for your gentle, knowledgeable care yesterday afternoon. Gypsy left the building with a clean bill of health, 6 months supply of flea protection and "peticure". See you in the spring!
