We were strongly considering moving into the Essex Skyline apartments, until we read these reviews. Some of them as recent as 2 months ago. Elevators breaking down, not reserving elevators for tenants moving out, gates breaking down, rude concierge seems to be some of the common themes. It is impossible for that many people to have the same common problems without them being true. It’s a shame that such a beautiful property is so poorly managed. Lived here for several years, Ieng at the front desk is very helpful and friendly and always goes out of her way to greet us. New management and staff are great and keep place very clean.
Currently live here and it's not going great. The new company that just bought it is completely ignoring all the real issues residents currently face (longterm broken elevators, widespread plumbing problems, mold), and instead prioritizing new pillows on the patio and repainting the concrete every other day. They're also trying to hide all these reviews by creating a fresh start with a new Google Maps location called “Skyline OC”….
05/2025 : I’m writing about our property manager, Janathan, because he truly deserves recognition. A leak happened right during my move—everything was packed and I was switching units. It wasn’t anyone’s fault, just really unfortunate timing, but Janathan stepped in right away. Even though the vendor didn’t do the best job at first, he followed up constantly and kept me updated, even during his time off. His support made a stressful situation feel manageable. Absolutely the worst experience ever. When I was moving out, a Black woman at the front desk told me I couldn’t use the elevator because “it’s only for people moving in.” Seriously? That’s blatant discrimination—just because we’re no longer paying rent, we don’t even get to use the elevator? Are we supposed to carry everything down from the 22nd floor by stairs?
