My boyfriend and I eat here at least once a week!! We love essence of India. We tried other Indian cuisine restaurants in the Tallahassee area but nothing at all compares to this place! Today we went for the buffet and got surprised to see they were doing a mega buffet with champagne and educated us on other things that we never had before!! Compared to its cousin restaurants in town, EOI delivers small portions, and higher prices. I always judge an Indian restaurant based on their vindaloo... EOI's vindaloo was nothing like I have ever had. It was brown (like beef stew- supposed to be red), tasted like beef gravy, and lacked the sharp flavor you get elsewhere. We LOVE this place. By far the best Indian cuisine in Tallahassee, probably even the state. Staff is phenomenal and friendly, also knowledgeable. The food is served in huge portions. The dinner feeds me at least twice with what I take home, and the buffet is great. We always celebrate birthdays, graduations, promotions, etc here. Highly, highly recommended.
