I feel like your opinion depends 100% on where you're from. If you're from a rural area then this place is amazing. They do craft cocktails and have an amazing selection of international whisky. It's great. But if you're from a foodie town (Austin, Denver, Nashville, etc.) then you might be disappointed. The old fashioneds are apparently made with Wild Turkey unless otherwise specified. Eek. Great Atmosphere at one of the oldest bars in San Antonio. Friendly staff, very knowledgeable on their selection of beers, and Whiskeys !
Went there for my first time last Saturday. Warm and charming atmosphere. Great service! I never had an empty drink or a need to hunt down a waiter or waitress. I tried a new drink called the En Pointe I believe. Its my new favorite. My friends all feel the same way I do about this place. We are looking forward to visiting it again soon!
Food was Eh... glass of wine was 15.00! Hot as HELL in there. We couldve done wothout the waiter. He seemed put out having to serve us. I took mt BF and 85 year old MIL. Neither were inpressed. The architecture is beautiful but the service, not so much. Been there, done that. Wont be back.
Great food, drinks and service! Met some friends from out of town here recently. We started downstairs, and then migrated up after a few drinks. I was surprised that they are different institutions and you couldn't take your drink upstairs. Great reviews on the chicken fried steak, burgers and fried pickles. Excellent Moscow Mules too!
