First it was only a 30 min wait, on probably one of the busiest nights on the Riverwalk, Saturday before Christmas. The bar staff was amazing, the drinks were perfect and made the 30 minutes fly by. The food is perfect as well. We ordered the Onion Dip and Chips, Relleno Burger, and Texas Onion Soup. This is the best meal we have ever had. Our server Oscar was awesome as well. Best Old Fashions ever, and huge high five to Taylor behind the bar.
Maybe it was an off night, maybe it was us. Lol We spent our anniversary in San Antone and came upside from the river walk. We went in to the Esquire and it was reasonably busy. We stood at the entry and were ignored by the staff. Tables were available but needed cleaning. We stood at the entry while a bartender counted money at the cash drawer, never once did he look up. I've been there many times on Sunday's from 3-6pm, great Jazz trio, great atmosphere, food, and luv the appetizers, and of course the beer/drinks. Great knowledgeable staff, and I'm a local :-)
My husband researched this interesting bar and we made a reservation for dinner and drinks. We arrived a little early and the hostess very graciously accommodated us with a table. It was a little warm inside so we opted for the single table on the outdoor balcony. Great choice! My husband put one of his playlists on his iPhone and we had instant ambiance. Excellent cocktail drinks and the ambience was relaxing. They have variety of food on the menu and the salads were exemplary. The French press coffee was of good quality.
Loved the atmosphere and the Manhattans. Deviled eggs were delicious and the service was excellent
