First encounter was when they stopped seating on a Saturday before 8:00 p.m. so we went Sunday morning. Already out of fried pickles we grazed on a really good house salad and a version of poutine that was more aptly described as french fry soup with no cheese of any type - curd or otherwise. Friendly bar staff, creative delicious cocktails and beautiful atmosphere.
We were told to go to Esquire for the atmosphere and the cocktails. We got great seats at the bar and loved the old and intimate atmosphere. Through all of the good there was bad. Substandard service left a sour taste in our mouth. The bartenders made no eye contact, no conversation, and d idnt make drinks in front of us. He was too busy to even ask how it was and quickly slapped a bill in front of us. When I go to places like this I expect service to be above this.

We went here the day after Christmas (tonight 12/26/17) for an early dinner and to see the River Walk for the first time from Austin and it was wonderful! The service was excellent, our waitress Amanda was super knowledgeable about everything on the menu and recommended her favorites that did not disappoint. The egg nog was amazing again this year as well as the Ramos Gin Fizz & Pink Lady created by Sean at the bar. Great ambiance & service too!
