LA fitness has been trying to go around our contract for a very long time. I have been at this for years now. I became total and permanently disabled in 2020 because of an injury that I got in the military. I finally got an answer on what to do and I sent proof of everything to corporate, including my husbands disability and proof that we moved out of state, but even with that proof, it's still not working. DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THIS GYM. Management and staff are a revolving door. Front desk representative was not only rude and disrespectful, but incompetent. I found out I was being charged membership fees 6 TIMES/month for almost 2 years!!! And apparently this is something their sales people do to boost their sales. They just tack on additional memberships to unsuspecting accounts to get their commission and hope that nobody notices that this company is STEALING from people!! I already cancel my membership, they still charging for several months. When you call they say to come in person. Im out of the country, and they dont stop to charge. I change my card and now theyre calling me desperately to update my card, when I say I need to cancel, I already cancel it and you still charging me they say: You have to come in the gym. Theyre crazy!!!! They renewed my membership without I aprove this.
This gym is excellent been here for over 5 years clean and friendly the staff is very friendly and supportive front desk goes up and beyond to help with any concerns
Absolutely awful front desk service. I believe her name was ****? Starts with an A. After scanning my barcode she asks for an ID, not believing it is me?? I tell her Ive left my wallet in the car, but I can verify this is me. She proceeds to ask for address, phone number, date of birth, all the way down like some sort of Police Officer. I signed up for training, the trainer made me do weightlifting and it was too much that it caused my shoulder to hurt. I went to the doctor and they found a problem with my shoulder. I took the papers over to cancel my training but they dont want to accept it. I have tried canceling for months now and they dont want to cancel it. This is my reasoning for doing a complaint and consumer report to see if they can help me with this problem.

Signed up online for a 3 day trial pass since this is the closest gym with a pool. Was planning on signing up after the fact if everything met my expectations. Was met by the manager and he did the normal sells thing of trying to get us to sign up.... that's expected, once we said we just wanted to check it out first he said "Well you have to sign up to use the trial. I joined but never used my membership and decided to cancel my wife's and mine. I did mine online with the company, and their website said that for the cancelation to be validated, a letter of cancelation must also be sent to their corporate office, which I also did. They are still charging my credit card. A few weeks ago, I was forced to pay my wife's membership again by phone to be able to cancel her membership.
