If you have Parkinson's or any other type of movement disorder, Dr Urrea-Mendoza and his P.A. Patrick Walker are the guys you want to see. Very knowledgeable and friendly, takes time to listen to your concerns, and develops a plan of treatment based on mutual decisons between the patients concerns and their recommendations. They really changed my life. Highly recommended!!!
We love Dr. Urrea but one his staff that answers the telephone should find another line of work. I don’t remember her name but she was very rude. And this isn’t the first time I have been spoken to like that. I called the first of last week because my husband has been so sick. She was curt, unsympathetic and her suggestion was for us to sit in the ER for hours. He is in constant pain, very dizzy and sick on his stomach. Plus due to the Parkinsons he can barely walk. Dr. Urrea is great but his staff never calls you back about appointments, medical issues or anything. My husband really needs to have s staff that is more responsive. The doctor needs to work on this and make some improvements right away.
While I think Dr Mendoza is awesome there are serious problems with his staff. My husband has had several different tests run in the past year and every time there is either an issue with getting the test scheduled or ever finding out what the results were. Communication is terrible and I spend most of my time calling the office and being told they’ll have someone call me back and no one ever does. Recommend him, but maybe he needs to restaff his office with competent employees that care about his patients.
I am amazed by Dr. Urrea’s thoroughness in his exam of my husband, his extraordinary patience and kindness toward both of us, and then his clear and concise summary explanation of his observations, recommendations and expectations. He is an exceptional neurologist and certainly one-of-a-kind. Tallahassee is fortunate to have him here. His staff was exceptionally cheerful and considerate. That’s a testament to not only the quality of his staff, but to the likelihood that working with him is a pleasure. Rare indeed!
