Since Encompass offers the best rehab in the Pittsburgh area, I did not learn about it from upmc. I remembered it from previous experience and called them to ask if I could come back. I thought it took them a long time to answer when I called for help but the rehab that I got there was superb.
Nurses, Therapists and Doctors are exceptional. Can't say that for Medicare and others that have to do with patient progress. I was kicked out after learning to walk with a cane for 200 feet! I had therapy for a total of 10 days/30 hours. Nothing against Encompass (or not sure what input they have when it comes to patient stay time). Insurance/Medicare has no clue as to what the needs are of the patients! Forgot an important issue ---- Front left wheel fell off of my wheelchair, which threw me forward and the wheelchair was ... read more
We thought this was a good fit for my mom after suffering a major stroke on Christmas day 2024. It wasn't, they treat you like a number, not a person. They lied and said she had another stroke and sent her to the er because they knew I was going to appeal her discharge. They care about nobody. I can't say enough great things about Kristen, Diane, Shay, Kelly, and Ursula. They were amazing! But honestly please don't send your loved ones here. They don't care.
