We went after Christmas here, weather wasn’t the best to go but it was spontaneous. It was cold (30s & lower) and it rained most of the time, even at night which made the stay uncomfortable when we got wet while sleeping in our tents. I bet this place would be great during the spring into the summer time. The hike was awesome and the view was pretty and we got a good campsite. Definite need to hike. Did it Valentines day 2017, completing a started hike from 2015 that was ended by a wash out rain and lightning storm as we were about 1/2 way up. Plan to do it again.
Normally I would have given a five star rating, but park staff was extremely rude and I was very disappointed. I am originally from the area and grew up visiting the state park and enjoying the beauty. My husband and I were on our way out of town after the holiday and I wanted to take him there to enjoy the spectacular views.
