GREAT PLACE TO HAVE A GOOD TIME.I DRANK MY FIRST BEER HERE AT THE BAR IN 1961 JOSIE WAS THE OWNER AT THAT TIME.
Great food. Had lunch with my Mom today. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. The food was fast, hot, and delicious. The owner stopped by to say hello and ask us a few questions about our day. Just like every time I have been here it makes my mouth water and anxious for my return visit. By the way mom says the chili burger is the way to go. Thanks for making our day.
Took my wife for an Anniversary dinner. Service was great and had the BBQ combo which was awesome. Too much for me to eat and I usually finish my plate.
I give a five star rating based on my love for the Snake Pit of old. I was not able to post without giving a rating. I am only posting this to express my great joy that "The Pit" is operating again. I spent many evenings there in 1971 and 1972 while working for the Forest Service. I was fortunate enough to visit again a few times in 2007, 2008, and 2009 while on vacation. The rustic atmosphere is amazing, took me back to the Alaska roadhouse. Staff were friendly and helpful. Service was great. We met friends there for lunch and I don't think we could have picked a better place. I'll be back.
My wife was a little reluctant to eat at a place called the Snake Pit. I was thoroughly intrigued. At the end of our 10 day, fifteen restaurant trip she readily proclaimed the Snake Pit was her favorite by far, (and some of the others were famed, well reviewed, and expensive.) I agreed with her. The burger I had (the Western Burger) was as good as I have had anywhere. The tomato bacon soup was fantastic. Service was great and the decor perfect for a place with such a storied and colorful history. Highly recommended!
When I lived in ldaho, the Silver Valley that is, we took everyone there who visited us...and man alot of people loved this place.
