I like the ombiance and food was pretty good, not great and a little pricey
We were downtown at the community center and decided to go to the Empress Tavern for happy hour it was great love the atmosphere loved everything about it! Our waitress was very attentive always checking in to make sure everything was fine, I had the crabcake which was excellent and a wedge salad which was good.
I was checking things out prior to a planned trip downtown next week. I had heard about Empress, and when I saw the menu posted near the sidewalk, I decided to try it out. After adjusting to the dark entry (had sunglasses on!!), I went down and sat at the bar. It was after the lunch hour, so were not many patrons. Good good not enough menu choices . Kind of pricey
Great atmosphere. Cocktails were creative, a bit small for the price but well made. The waitstaff was very attentive and welcoming. The food was timely and delicious. Would definately recommend.
Awesome food! Best cut of meat of had, ever! Gorgeous hidden gem. Very 20s Gatsby with glitz.
