Great view of the Downtown river & South bend. Great atmosphere & staff.
We were in on New Years Eve. Had a reservation and the restaurant wasn't very busy when we arrived. The server wasn't very knowledgeable when asked about items on the menu. Took a little too long to get our drinks. Food was very good, as always. The pricing is a little much for what you get. A side salad or soup should be offered with dinners. Incredible and amazing service and awesome food and fare
The food was just not up to the standards of similarly priced/fare restaurants. The French onion soup was good, the garlic potatoes were average, the Duo of Duck was terrible. No chef would let something so over cooked leave their kitchen. The FREE gift appetizer was some sort of limp warm pineapple with burnt coconut? And macadamia nut, honestly it wasn't worth the price (see above). I couldn't eat it on a dare. As a South Bend institution I hope the standards improve.
Good food, good cocktails. I recommend the Emporium Punch. I'd also recommend the tempura mushrooms. Great view of the St Joe River. Decent priced too.
