Dr. Emilie Cheung did such an amazing job on my elbow! She is usually well respected for her shoulder surgical procedures, but just as impressive, was her elbow surgical procedure. I am right hand dominant, and a tennis player. I went in to see her in June 2025 to remove a bone spur in my right elbow that was broken off, causing me a lot of pain and locking. I could not be more satisfied with the care I received from Dr Cheung and Stanford. I had been given the run around by my primary care after badly tearing the ligaments in my shoulder. Stanford got me in within days and scheduled my surgery four days after my initial appointment. I immediately felt comfortable in her care and was impressed with her skill and experience. His comment was that the injury and issues were so severe he wanted to send me to a "super specialist". Dr. Cheung accepted me as a patient, did a reverse shoulder replacement and sent ... read more

I am a retired surgeon and did a large amount of research to find the best shoulder replacement surgeon. All aspects of my surgery and care were superb as was my result. You can do no better than Dr Cheung and you can do a lot worse.

After 4 years of pain and 3 elbow specialists, I was resigned. I waited a year before I contacted Ortho at Stanford. After careful discussion I saw Dr Cheung who herself brought up elbow replacement as an option. I had already tried all alternative treatments with no relief and had brought up elbow replacement with three orthopedic doctors in San Francisco. All had declined. I had next to no cartilege left in my elbow. The surgery went incredibly well and within several weeks I was close to full range of motion. Two of the P... read more
