My loved one lives at the Terrace at First Colony. Im very disappointed in them. All the plants that froze over the winter on the outside atriums, are empty pots of dirt. The wicker furniture is falling apart and looks terrible, yet they keep raising the rent. One of the things we thought were nice about the Terrace was the outside sitting areas. Since the apartments arent that large, it would be nice to have a place outside that was attractive to sit in by their apartments. The places they show to people thinking of moving ... read more
The staff is wonderful. The only negative thing I have is having to pay for 2 weeks after my husband died because they allow the family members 2 weeks to pick up items left by the resident. Evidently I didnt realize that I signed for this payment to be made on the original contract. I gave all of my husbands belongings to one of the residents there--advised one CNA and the Executive Director but I still had to pay for the 2 weeks. Beware of the fine print!!
Mediocre care at best in skilled nursing. Often understaffed. Have found my bedridden friend there without water within reach twice in the last three days, slumped too far down in the bed - indications of infrequent monitoring. Staff not over-friendly or over-solicitous in my experience, unless I just met them on bad days. Not a place to leave a loved one if you can t visit daily, like most such places.
Seniors service is great help to our elderly partents.See the walk in tubs http://www.walk-in-tub.org that is another ideal bathroom products for seniors independent living.Never worry the bath safety and with dignity and independent elderly living life.
When you need a Place for Mom check the state audit report at the facility!!!
A terrible place for the elderly. I agree with what Celeste has written times 10. My relative who was placed there was given drugs that harmed her health andnever questioned by the hursing staff or administrator. He room stank of old urine and soiled old bed clothes were found in her closet. She fell many times-atleast 5- with the last breaking her hip. There is no emergency button or cord in any room to call for help. Sometimes there is no food prepared for the patients on Sunday evenings so the staff goes to McDonalds to b... read more
I have worked with this company for many years and have seen many changes to my amaze. I enjoy the residents and learn from them, we have a great team and we do quite well with the family members, I hope it continues this way. It has been a challenge but well worth the sacrifice, looking into the residents eyes says it all. Lets hope this will be a better year with more to come. Austin Brighten Gardens, Austin Texas.
