This is an excellent salon that deserves more than five stars. I read the review regarding the stylist getting 60% and the owner taking 40%. I feel this owner is over extending herself as most salons do 50/50 or rent booths and have the stylist be responsible for their own products. THIS IS THE WORST SALON EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THE MGR MS. MITCHELL IS A CROOK!!!! but she goes to church and forces her customers to listen to gospel the whole time!!!!! My recent visit to Elmada's was truly a blessing. Ms. Mitchell, the head stylist and owner, nursed my hair back to health. I had gone through a phase in my life where I just let my hair "go" and didn't take care of it as I should have. I went to Elmada's for the first time last week, and I love how close the staff is! You feel like you're family when you're there and the service is quick, really good, and fun! I would refer this shop to anyone in the D.C or Northern Virginia area who is looking for a good place that does black hair. Also, they do not put a lot of product in your hair to style it, so the style that you leave with is always one that can be managed outside the salon!

Elmada's truly is a professional salon. They exceed your expectations in pricing and service. The stylist are great and they care about their clients. Being a client at this salon for more than three years has truly been a great experience and above all a blessing from God. In the name of God may they continue to thrive and be a blessing to others.
