NO stars if I could My new fiancee and I were grossly mistreated at this shop. After explaining to the sweet girl working at the desk that we did not have an appointment because we had just gotten engaged, were planning on having the wedding very soon, and the area we wanted to purchase a dress in the area because the selection where we live is less than impressive, she happily allowed me to use a back room to try on the dresses. We thanked her repeatedly and wholeheartedly.
So Disappointed! Don't think for a second that if you have an appointment, you will be of any importance. Apparently scheduling time out of your day does not matter to the owner and staff at Ellie's Bridal.
Run in the other direction!!! WORST SERVICE EVER!! We had an appointment to find bridesmaids dresses. The entire time we were there we had to track down someone to assist us. There were well over 5 employees. There was a bride doing a fitting and our party of 5. While attempting to try on dresses two girls who clearly did not have an appointment received more assistance than we did. We left here fast and went to Katherine's bridal on Duke st. Surprised I wasn't overly impressed with the selection of formal dresses or the staff. They were informative of things when you first arrived but after they told me what they needed to I didn't see them again for about 45 minutes. They didn't help me with anything. There was 2 girls working and both helping 1 girl out. It wasn't till I was getting ready to leave that they gave me any help. When I told them the dress I wanted and when I needed it by they told me they'd call the designer the following day and contact me.
Can have wonderful service, but beware..... I have been to Ellie's twice. The first time I took my future sister-in-law. I dealt with Elizabeth who was wonderful. She was patient, friendly and courteous. They let you put the dresses on yourself in the fitting room (other boutiques come in an assist you, which can make women feel rather uncomfortable). They didn't have a set time limit on my appt. and allowed me to try on what dresses that I wanted to, not ones they pick out FOR you. Overall, a great first experience.
Pleasant Staff,but Disorganized My initial visit was lovely. I was aided by Marie and found the perfect dress. That day I ordered a swatch so I could begin looking for shoes. Four phone calls and two and a half months later, I finally received a swatch. Thank God the store we went to for bridesmaids gowns actually had my dress-so we weren't slowed down. My dress came in. Ellies is the Worst! Ellie's was a BIG mistake, I had a bad feeling about it from the start, but decided to trust them since it is a small store. I ordered my dress in December for my August wedding, at that time they said it would arrive in May, which is what I needed to happen as I was designing a custom jacket to go with the dress and needed it as soon as possible. AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL! I could just beat myself up for going to Ellie's. The issue for me is I had read the reviews - mixed but mostly poor, and I thought, honestly, how bad can it be? Well....AWFUL!!! Worst Wedding Dress Shopping Experience I do not suggest that anyone buy a dress from Ellie's Bridal. There was abundance of straight pins on the floor that pricked me while I was trying on dresses. I was was blown off my one the staff when I mentioned this. Although, after shopping around they were the only store that carried the dress I found online.
