Ellies is the Worst! Ellie's was a BIG mistake, I had a bad feeling about it from the start, but decided to trust them since it is a small store. I ordered my dress in December for my August wedding, at that time they said it would arrive in May, which is what I needed to happen as I was designing a custom jacket to go with the dress and needed it as soon as possible. Worst Wedding Dress Shopping Experience I do not suggest that anyone buy a dress from Ellie's Bridal. There was abundance of straight pins on the floor that pricked me while I was trying on dresses. I was was blown off my one the staff when I mentioned this. Although, after shopping around they were the only store that carried the dress I found online. Run in the other direction!!! WORST SERVICE EVER!! We had an appointment to find bridesmaids dresses. The entire time we were there we had to track down someone to assist us. There were well over 5 employees. There was a bride doing a fitting and our party of 5. Brides and Bridesmaids Beware! Brides and bridesmaids beware!! This is not the shop for you. I ordered a dress from this shop on June 1st for a wedding on July 19th, paid $50 extra for supposedly "super rush shipping" and did not recieve my dress until July 12th, exactly one week before the wedding. To top it all off, when I went to pick up my dress I was totally ignored by the ignorant and untrained staff at the shop and there was noone to whom I could voice a complaint. The Owner is the worst.... I got my dress from Ellie's and worked with Marie who was great; however, every encounter I had with the owner, Ellie, was TERRIBLE. There was a spot on my dress when it first came in and 4-5 other people at the store recognized it and said they would clean it, then Ellie comes over and says she can't see it. Good if you don't want to be bothered I will admit I visited this store without an appointment on what seemed to be a busy day. But I was only looking for veils, so I was not feeling like I needed to have an actual appointment. I got no service and while the other brides who were in the store were very nice, the staff kind of made me feel like my trying to look in a mirror with a veil on was a hassle because there were girls trying on gowns. Can have wonderful service, but beware..... I have been to Ellie's twice. The first time I took my future sister-in-law. I dealt with Elizabeth who was wonderful. She was patient, friendly and courteous. They let you put the dresses on yourself in the fitting room (other boutiques come in an assist you, which can make women feel rather uncomfortable). Don't use them!!! DO NOT use Ellie's Bridal for your big day. I hardly ever write reviews but I don't want another bride to go through what I did. I ordered a wedding dress sash on March 12th for my June 23rd wedding and was told it would come in in a month. I called around mid-April and was told it would come in in mid May. In mid May I called and was told it would be shipped on May 27th, and was told the very last day it would be at the store was June 5th. Bad Service A bridesmaid and I traveled to Alexandria to check the color and fit of some bridesmaid's dresses we'd found online. We were left in a little back room by ourselves to look through their selection. The lady that was helping us was nice but basically put some books out in front of us for us to use as a selection guide.
