In 1995, Nilda de la Llata opened El Sol y La Luna on South Congress with the vision of a family friendly restaurant serving fresh, interior Mexican cuisine, as well as a community hub for live music, cultural arts, and special events. Now located on the corner of 6th Street and Red River, the restaurant offers a vibrant meeting place for locals and tourists.

Great place to unwind and catch up on good times. The staff are great too. Thank you El Sol y La Luna for a great experience!!!
Love their Corona Rita's!!! And the peeps are the best!!!
I just loved it....my drink was the best!!!!!, the restaurant is lovely and the service is spectacular...i definitely recommended....
I first tasted this fine cuisine when Nilda opened the cafe on Congress and I renewed my love for the food recently. The caldo (soup) again floored me with its perfect blend of broth, fresh stewed vegetables, pollo, and finished with the avocado and other fresh-cut uncooked toppings--wow, my palate was in heaven. I looking forward to the monthly gospel brunch every 3rd Sunday with my band Tejas so I can try everything else on the menu! Also, thank you Feliz, manager, for the samplings of the top shelf Mescal. --john Arthur m... read more
