About this business

At El Rayo we are committed to flavorful and healthy cooking. We go to great lengths scouring the region for the highest quality produce and other ingredients. During the summertime, we use up to 20 cases of locally grown tomatoes and we will order 200 pounds of sustainable pollock every week. Our fish tacos are well-loved for a reason.

That was al pastor? Where is it like that? And what's with the sliver of avo on the supposedly fish taco? I thought it was going to be an integral part of the taco, not a garnish. What's the point of such a small piece? A 4 buck taco should have had a substantial portion of avo to match the filling. Go visit an actual tacqueria to see how it's done or change your name.

We were eating here before the Three Dog Night concert. We had the steak burrito. It was totally different from what we expected. It was pretty good. :) we will come back

Another great find in Portland! Taco was delicious! One of the best I've had. Drinks were awesome and packed a punch. I will definitely be back!

Will not go back. I couldn't eat my entree, so I ate a crap ton of tortilla chips with watery cheese sauce. Busy, too casual for my taste (order at the counter and they page you when your food is ready, but ours came in 2 orders, but they took the pager after the 1st order. What a mess.

Great spot! Tacos, burritos and bowls are all really good. Love the fried plantains and the corn in the cob! Great tequila selection and reasonable price. Sam is a fantastic bartender!
