El Rancho was built in 1948 by the Jahnke family as a trading post. They sold the building in November 1953 to Mildred and Ray Zipprich, Milwaukee Wisconsin pie distributors. Their daughter Donna and son-in-law Paul McEncroe joined them in February 1958 and operated it, with their children, until 1988. Food on the "limited menu" was remarkably mediocre. Very disappointing. We may try again in a few months after their regular menu is up and running.
Soft Opening tonight, total joke! If you're not ready to open, then don't. Waited 35 minutes for a 3 beer order, never received so we left. Hopefully they pull it together! Was extremely excited for this opening.
I have a personal relationship with historic and beautiful place, it's been and honor and privilege to help this come to life again. Thanks to the great group of people that been here everyday making this a truly special job. You all know who you are!!
