The food was one of the better places I’ve eaten for that type of food. The service was slow for not being busy at the time we were there. I would definitely recommend this restaurant
I read somewhere that this place invented the burrito, which is kind of cool. Theirs are very good (and huge). This location is very near Staples Center and Nokia theater, making it a great restaurant option before or after a show/game.
Yummy!!!!!!!! This was delicious ...service was great. Santa Barbara Enchiladas paired with rice and beans.
No doubt that the food is great. However, when you order, make sure that the waiter understands specifically what you want. We may have gotten but were certainly charged for Cadillac margaritas when we only ordered "on the rocks with no salt." When we received the bill, we were also charged for top shelf "grey goose" vodka in our bloody mary's when we just ordered standard ones. There were other extras added to the entrees that we received but never ordered. Never had this experience with the El Cholos- Irvine location.
Busy Mexican restaurant with good Americanized Mexican food and strong margaritas, so be careful if your are driving. The salsa and chips are perfect to enjoy with margaritas. I had the beef taco and enchilada combo which was great. It's a big rambling Mexican style building with downstairs and upstairs dining areas, a bar, and a courtyard with tables in front. This location is newer and doesn't have the charm and atmosphere of the original in Los Angeles, but it has the same wonderful food. Upstairs seating is a bit quieter... read more
The atmosphere is good. The food is good. Try their fajitas and tamales. I loved their salsa.
