I own an 8 unit apartment at 2540 7th St, Santa Monica and used EGL. Michelle Vaakil is the owner and is the worst person imaginable to manage your property as I will explain. There was a water leak in unit 6 that caused a mold infestation requiring the tenant to move out and then having a HAZMAT team clean it up. The cost was 50,000 dollars. She is a terrible person to manage your property as I will explain. In 2012 under Michelle’s watch the property manager noticed a water leak but did nothing. Why don’t I get a response from EGL for this review? They respond to other reviews. I own an 8 unit apartment at 2540 7th Street Santa Monica, 90405 (Los Angeles County Tax Assessor's I.D. number 4287003011)and used EGL a number of years ago. It was fine when the original founders Eli and Gabriella Litov(hence the name EGL) ran the business but once Gabriella's daughter Michelle took over it went downhill fast.
