I am a retired RN with surgical background. I have had laser cataract surgery on both eyes by Dr. Hernandez with excellent results. I have glaucoma which he treated first with drops. When I could not tolerate the drops, he used a laser treatment which has proved very effective. The staff is polite and efficient. I highly recommend Eyes of the Southwest and Dr. Hernandez.
Dr. Hernandez performed surgery by replacing both lenses in my eyes. He is very kind and cares about his patients. If you need eye surgery I would highly recommend Dr Edward Hernandez. He's the best!
This is my first time to be living in an area with a doctor shortage and without question, Dr. Hernandez has the best credentials. He may even be the ONLY locally based ophthalmologist. It may be due to his being overworked that he and some of his back-office staff is officious. Dr. Hernandez was very professional. He did an awesome job at removing some very bad cataracts from both of my eyes. I can now see very well and I am very grateful for such a great surgeon. I highly recommend Dr. Hernandez.

Professional, compassionate, knowledgeable. Cataract surgeries and toric lens implant was totally painless, before, during and after. He personally called to check on me later that day. Instructions were clear, concise, and complete.
