A group of us went in today for lunch. The service was good, but the food was terrible. The French dip was served on stale bread and the meat was much too salty. My burger was burnt. My husbands bison burger claimed to be 1/2 pound but looked to be about 1/4 pound looking patty from McDonald's. my toddler, whom eats more than I do wouldn't eat his burger but did enjoy the fried pickles and my 4 year old gave her corn dogs a thumbs up, however, we won't be back.
There are very few burger joints like Ed's around, I usually get a jumbo and an order of beer batter onion rings, and no it ain't cheap. If I want a cheap hamburger the world is littered with them,,, but, if I desire a well made Thick burger and sides that only make you want more Ed Walkers is the place to go. They used to make a chicken fried steak that came with it's own bowl of gravy on the side, the steak was rolled so thin it covered the whole plate,,, I'm not sure they still do, but I will be finding out, not to mentio... read more

Friend and I ate there, Jan 5th,2017 at around 1530. Friend had the chicken fried steak dinner and I had the World Famous French Dip. My buddy is a very, very picky Texan when it comes to chicken fried steak. I asked him how it was and he said, "It's the real deal." He raved about the mashed taters as well. My French dip was excellent. It will be hard to order something different the next time we come through Ft.Smith.
